Round-up of September’s events

Last month was a busy one for the Funding Circle team, with multiple social events including the NACFB Commercial Broker Awards, Sedulo Charity Golf Day and the North West Broker Social. Here’s a rundown of what went on. 

NACFB Commercial Broker Awards

On 15^th September, we attended the NACFB Broker Awards in Manchester. This year, we were proud sponsors of the Cashflow Finance Broker of the Year award category. We’d like to congratulate the winners, Millbrook Business Finance, as well as the highly commended, Christie Finance & Pilot Fish Finance.

We’d also like to thank everyone involved for organising another fantastic awards ceremony. The team who attended had a great afternoon and here’s what they had to say:

“It was great to attend the NACFB Broker Awards at the ‘Jimmy Anderson end’ of the Emirates Old Trafford. We had the pleasure of sponsoring and presenting the award to the Cashflow Finance Broker of the Year, which one of our valued introducers won. Sedulo Charity Golf Day

Also on 15^th September, Funding Circle sponsored a 4 ball for the Sedulo Foundation. The charity golf day took place at Carden Park near Chester and involved 15 teams of 4 in a 10am Texas-style shotgun tee off. After breakfast and a brief, of course.

After a shaky start, our 2019 Tour Champion, Simon Truby, was leading the way with our line backer, Marc DeBrabander, bringing up the rear. Lee Saville and Neil Thorne, Sedulo’s Funding Circle Business Development Manager, had their moments. And as the day progressed, they hit their stride – although Neil lost 8 balls before the day was out.

They played on The Nicklaus course, which was technically challenging, so the fact they managed to cross the line in 9th place was a fantastic result. But the real result was the money raised for these great charities:

The day was concluded with prizes, BBQ-style food and a well-deserved beer …or two.

North West Broker Social

On 21st September Funding Circle hosted a social at Boom Battle bar in Manchester and invited our top-performing brokerages to join us for an evening of healthy competition. People went head-to-head in games such as shuffleboard, darts and beer pong.

The venue and staff were great. We were greeted with welcome drinks; offered drinks tokens; and served tasty finger food including wings, cheese poppers and chicken sliders. A great night was had by all and we look forward to hosting the next.
