FAQs about managing your payments
If you have questions about what help we offer to manage your debt, please find our FAQs below.
If you are late in making a repayment, or think you will miss a repayment, please get in touch with us as soon as possible on 0203 308 9190 or email us at customersolutions@fundingcircle.com to discuss your options. There are several avenues we can explore with you depending on your circumstances.
A default occurs when a lender decides to formally terminate the loan because you have missed payments, or breached the loan contract in another way. This could happen to an account you have with a bank, mobile phone company or utility supplier as well as any personal or business loans. A default can occur regardless of how much money you owe, and the reasons for default vary depending on the lender’s terms.
Please be assured that defaulting on a loan is always a last resort for us, as it will affect your business’ credit rating.
If you can, you should make a full contractual payment before your next payment due date to prevent default. If you are not able to make a payment or you are concerned about re-starting contractual repayments, please contact us on 0203 308 9190 or at customersolutions@fundingcircle.com.
Please contact us on 0203 308 9190 or at recoveries.uk@fundingcircle.com to discuss your options.
Once a loan is defaulted we will begin working with you or any personal guarantor(s) of the loan to recover the full balance of the loan (including all unpaid principal, interest, charges and costs) so we can return this to the investor(s). While the full balance of the loan is due at the point of default, if you are unable to repay in one payment, we can work out a payment plan so you can pay the debt over a period of time.
We will always discuss your available options with you, so please make sure you contact us as soon as default occurs.
If an amicable agreement is not reached, we can also take further action after default, including passing the debt to a collection agency and taking court action.
If the borrower is a limited company, the default will not affect your Personal Credit file. The default will only be registered on the credit file of the business in accordance with FCA guidelines.
However, your Personal Credit file will be affected if the defaulted loan is not repaid according to the guarantee terms - leaving us with no choice but to obtain a court judgment or bankruptcy order.
If the borrower is not a limited company, the default will be reported to Credit Reference Agencies and this will have an effect on your Personal Credit file.
